Bellevue mid-century Kitchen

A small and very oddly laid out original kitchen (open to a second family room with an unused fireplace) was in desperate need of an update! The homeowners found it difficult to enjoy cooking and entertaining with such an awkward layout, lack of storage and counter space. When I presented their new floor plan that proposed removing the fireplace, adding a few windows and turning the adjoining family room into the main kitchen, they were shocked when they saw how much more space they could gain. It was a go!

They were eager to get started selecting materials, collecting bids and asked if they could be involved in the construction. The end result is dramatic and yet still feels like it had always belonged in their home. This mid-century modern kitchen blends perfectly with the architecture of their 60's rambler and existing furnishings. Two important details that make a home feel balanced and complete.
